35 year old Gamer
57Still gaming
I have been a video gamer since the early 80's and had the atari when it first it the stores in 1982. I believe that when you grow up with something that you really love, it's hard to let go of because that's all you remember. That's one of the reasons why I'm still playing video games at the young age of 35. Just how old is too old for playing video games when most of the titles out there are mature ratings. It's the way society as a whole protrays the average 35 year old. At the age of 35, they should be already buying a home, married with kids and have a professional career.
Online games rock!
One of the things that really set it off are the online games . Not only do you play with friends that you invite over but people as far away as China. I was playing "Call of Duty 2" and notice that my opponents started speaking another language and ask them where are they located , good question, like they really understood me. So, I looked at their profile and it say Japan and China , "amazing". We didn't have this 20 years ago. I also had to try out the new "Street fighter 4 ". I didn't like it as much as Call of Duty or maybe I'm obsessed with the game. Anyways it's fun when you play against people you've just met online because you don't know how good they are because some people play 24/7. These people are really good . I'm talking about when I get online and start playing before I can get a move off , they got me. I used to think it was my internet connection because all I had was DSL and that was slow compared to the speeds on some systems. I just really believe that's where video games are headed because we live in an era of social networking.
Games I love
I have always been an action and adventure gamer since the early 90's when game developers tried to make you think you were traveling in a distance land . Games like Legend of Zelda, Metriod,Contra and Super Mario Bros( actually one of my favorites). I remember in 1984 when I was playing "Pitfall" for the atari , it just seem like you were running in circles, same alligators and same vines over and over again. But it kept me glued to the set for hours. I think the gaming platform change when they released the second "Grand Theft Auto" , it brought gamers to a whole new world "three dimensional". It got me hooked when I first played it because now you didn't have that invisible wall you would always bump into, you could go anywhere on the map. The freedom to explore every nuke and cranny. Now I'm playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare for the Xbox 360 and it's all intense. Not only is it a three dimensional world but an action and first-person shooter title that you would enjoy.

Overall, I love to play and age is nothing but a number. Heck , they should start installing them in most nursing homes, the patients would be happy to see them.

I agree - I've been playing games since the early 80s and still play them now with my daughter...
